Childcare
What is Tax-Free Childcare? (TFC)
Parents have an online account and each quarter they must confirm their eligibility. The account will be topped up by the Government with 20p for every 80p contribution by parents or family members, up to a maximum of £2,000 per child per year.
Remember, as a rule of thumb TFC is better if your childcare cost is over £9,330 (for a basic taxpayer) and £6,252 (for a higher taxpayer), so ensure you check how much you spend and the savings you make under both schemes.
If you wish to claim childcare, you need to claim through the Government Tax Free childcare scheme.
If you require information on Tax-Free Childcare please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.
Childcare vouchers are a Government initiative that closed to new applicants in 2017. This was replaced by the above Tax-Free Childcare. If you had joined the scheme before the closure date you could continue to make deposits into your account.
If you are enrolled in the scheme, you can Manage your childcare vouchers here.
To increase or amend your existing salary deductions, please contact the works.perks@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or make the change within the Childcare Portal. The Works Perks team will then contact your school to ensure the correct deductions are taken from your pay.
Please note that you need to notify Works Perks by the end of the month for the changes to come into effect from the following month.
If you have any questions about your Childcare Vouchers, please contact the Pluxee Team on 0800 328 7411 or email customercare.engage.uk@pluxeegroup.com and they will be happy to help.
