ESEM (Education Services East Midlands) prices

2024/25 Prices

The prices can be found on your annual services renewal form, on the tab - Service Desc with Prices. For further assistance contact eduserve@nottinghamcity.gov.uk

Please note the EPS are no longer offering the platinum package, however settings are still able to buy more than 15 sessions in total. To do so, please select 'gold' and purchase an additional top up of however many gold sessions to get to the number of session you require. It is important that these are purchased together to ensure you get your required number of sessions, as the EPS will not be in a position to add further top up during the academic year.

Service Packages

Packages of support to individual schools

  • A session is 3 hours
  • A day is 2 sessions or 6 hours

Top Up is for schools that have already purchased a package and require additional sessions during the year. Any additional sessions booked over and above the package purchased will be charged at the original package rate.

Please contact a member of the EPS leadership team to obtain advice about the most appropriate package to suit your needs, by emailing cepstraded@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or by phone on 0115 876 5829.

Package content

The Contact Educational Psychologist for the school will usually meet with representatives from the school at the beginning of the year, to plan how the package time will be used. The purpose of the meeting is to agree the detail of the support required. Plans should include time for preparation, report writing and follow up work for each piece of work (phone calls, letters etc.) which are part of the purchased package.

We would like schools to use their EP time creatively and think outside of the box. We offer facilitation for visioning, circle of adults, and big picture, transition reviews, voice of the child and parent participation as part of our traded element.

Please note: It is the school’s responsibility to ensure that all sessions are booked in good time and in negotiation with the Contact EP.

Training

Time from packages can be used to receive training.

Examples of training available:

  • Precision Teaching
  • Emotion Coaching
  • The role of working memory in learning
  • Attachment and its impact on behaviour and learning
  • Developing resilience in children and young people
  • ELSA (see separate information page)

We also offer bespoke training to meet a particular need in the school. A price for this depends on the time needed for delivery and preparation of training materials

Cancellation of sessions

  1. Cancellation by EPs

If for any reason (e.g. illness) an EP is unable to deliver a planned session, the service will consider the following options with school:

  • Alternative staff member to deliver session
  • Agree alternative date
  • Reimburse school for service that has not been provided
  1. Cancellation by school

If a session needs to be cancelled, the school should inform the EP as soon as possible.  The EP can then rearrange or book in another piece of work.

If cancelling sessions affects the ability to deliver all purchased session during the year, then some sessions may be lost.

If a school is unable to use the full package within a financial year there is no carry over.

Travel Expenses

There is no charge to Nottingham City Schools for a visit over 1 ½ hours

For schools beyond the Nottingham city boundary (but within the Nottinghamshire County boundary) travel expenses are added to the cost and are calculated at 50 pence per mile from and returning to NG8 3BP using the quickest journey indicated by Google Maps.

Where schools beyond the Nottingham City boundary have purchased a package of support, they will usually be charged for travel expenses for each visit to the school.

Getting the best from our service delivery

In order to make the best use of EP time we advise the following;

  • When working with a child or young person, the Request for EP involvement form should been fully completed and sent to the EP in advance of the visit. An adult with parental responsibility should read and agree to the request. Ideally the adult with parental responsibility will sign the form, but we are also able to accept verbal consent (school/setting should provide written confirmation of this).
  • A member of staff should be available to link with the Educational Psychologist during their visit.
  • The member of staff will be able to disseminate information to other staff and put any recommendations in place.
  • Appropriate accommodation will be made available for the Educational Psychologist to use.

Traded rates for settings other than schools (within the City), Out of County rates (settings outside the Nottinghamshire boundary)

A quote for the service offered will be provided and agreed before starting the work. The setting will then be invoiced at the end of the piece of work.
