Solar panels

If you have solar panels, you'll know that they generate electricity by absorbing energy from the sun and turning it into energy for your home.

The electricity your panels generate is free, and it gets used in your home instead of electricity from the national grid.

It’s important to use the solar generated electricity correctly, as your solar panels won’t produce enough energy to power your whole house on their own.

Solar panel meter readings

We may contact you to ask for a solar panel meter reading photograph. This is to make sure that your panels are working as they should be, and you're getting the benefit of the electricity they're generating.

There are two different types of solar panel meters. For instructions on how to read yours, choose the relevant drop down below.

2. Take a clear photograph of the screen - making sure that the barcode and meter serial number information is clearly visible (this is the blue blanked out section and bar code beneath it on the photo above)
